THE WORLD HATED HIM FIRST

John 15:18-25
"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.'  If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

A few years back, it was opening day of bear hunting season.  I called a great friend of mine to ask him how he had done the night before.  He laughed and explained that he was blessed to not shoot a bear.  After coming in from hunting he happened to look at his license and he was shocked to see that he had read it wrong and his hunt didn't start until 5 days later.  It was an honest mistake.  Things happen sometimes by honest mistake, then there are other times when things are don't on purpose for less than honest reasons.

At one time a devotional I had written had two verses that were found in the book if Philippians.  After sending it out via email and posting it on the many Facebook pages and websites someone sent me a note letting me know that spell check had changed its place of origin from the book of Philippians to the island of Philippines.  It just goes to show, our world has little connection to godly things.

I've found when writing, that while my phone or tablet's spell check will catch most words in the English language, biblical or godly words are generally missed.  I've come to expect if it has to do with God, the world wants little to nothing to do with it.

We have to learn that if we are going to truly stand up for God, this world will not stand with us... We are on our own.  If we teach godly behavior and standards we need to be prepared to be beaten, verbally if not physically.  The world wants none of it.

In the book of first John we see that while we might be the children of God, the world is clearly controlled by Satan himself.

1 John 5:19 tells us;
"We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one." (1 John 5:19)

So don't worry when we see that this world doesn't recognize that God is all powerful and will win in the end.  He knows what is happening and even though spell check might not recognize His name and ways... He stands with those that do.
